Markets are the environments where buyers and sellers meet for the product being traded. The markets where goods and services and the production possibilities used to produce them are traded are real markets, and the markets where fund demanders and fund suppliers meet are financial/financial markets.
Financial / Financial markets are also divided into two as money markets and capital markets, taking into account the maturities of fund sources. Markets where short-term fund supply and demand are met are considered money markets, and markets where medium and long-term fund supply and demand are met are capital markets.
The capital market is also divided into two as primary (primary) market and second hand (secondary) market. Primary markets are the markets where newly issued capital market instruments are delivered to the buyers of these instruments upon demand. Buying and selling transactions at the time of issue take place in the primary markets. The exchange of the exported vehicles while they are in circulation is carried out in the second-hand markets. In this respect, unlike the issuance, the transaction realized in the secondary markets is realized independently of the issuer. These transactions have no effect on the issuer wishing to raise funds. We can explain the distinction between the two in terms of export.
The capital market is the market where financial transfer takes place directly between the fund supplyer and the fund demander. The subject of the capital market is the transfer of capital by the owners of cash capital to the institutions in need of financing in line with their targeted purpose, in other words the provision of financing.
Companies that need funds in the capital markets can issue instruments that provide equity, such as shares and similar securities, and financing through borrowing, such as bonds. Equity instruments are a more attractive source of financing for companies, as they are non-refundable and cost less than loan interest. In addition, businesses may prefer to obtain funds both to finance long-term projects and to meet their short-term liquidity needs.
